Mt 20, 1 – 16a
FOR THE LORD SAYS, ” MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS AND YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT MINE.” Isa. 55/8
This week’s Gospel gives us a glimpse into the logic of God’s Wisdom. God’s love and mercy are not limited to any one race, faith or nation. This was a shock to the Jews of Jesus’ time. Every age has its biases. People believed they were part of the accepted circle, a circle that included just the right people, all the good guys and only the saved.
“THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST AND THE FIRST SHALL BE LAST.” Matthew 20/16.
I wonder if we were to apply the logic of God’s Wisdom to our own times what surprises we’d see come judgment day?
PRIVATE CONFESSIONS: We haven’t had Private Confessions for some time. I discontinued scheduling them because of lack of interest. I’ve rescheduled a time for them next Saturday afternoon. The Private Confessional form of the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a powerful and personal means the church offers to celebrate the mercy of God. Think about taking advantage of this opportunity this coming Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s.

NOT FORGOTTEN: Bishop Bullock has not forgotten us here in Harrison County. He hopes to have a decision about what to do with us by the end of the month. Be mindful of the Bishop in your prayers these next couple of weeks. I’m sure he would appreciate the prayers.
