Dear friends;

THE BISHOP IS COMING!! THE BISHOP IS COMING!!!: Bishop Bullock had Fr. Tom, Msgr. Paul and myself into his office for a visit this past Thursday. The Ad Hoc Committee of priest have completed their work and the Bishop had us give him our insights on the difficulties we have been experiencing here in Harrison county. The Bishop had made no decision on what needs to be done. He has decided to use this opportunity to make Pastoral visits to all the parishes in the county. The bishop plans to make Pastora1 visits to every parish in the diocese in the next couple of years. The bishop will be at St. Anne’s and Holy Family parishes on August 8th & 9th. The Bishop will celebrate the week end Masses with a short reception after each Mass. The Bishop sees these pastoral visits as opportunities for him to share the Word of God and the Eucharist with his people plus give him a chance to listen to their concerns. The Bishop will also meet with the parish counci1s. St. Anne’s parish council will meet with the Bishop at 7:30 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 8th, and he will meet with the Holy Family parish council at noon on Sun. Aug. 9th.

I know I speak for the Team and for you that we are excited about the Bishop’s visit and grateful that he has made Harrison County a high priority. The Bishop will make his decision on what we need to do in Harrison county after he has made these pastoral visits.

CATHOLIC WORKER REPORT: The following is a report I asked Mary Brosnahan and Pat Diggins to make about our visit to Des Moines and the Catholic Worker Community. The report speaks for itself. Look forward to the time we can repeat the experience.
